Through Work Abroad Programs

Teacher Exchange

The Teacher Exchange Visitor Program is a nonimmgrant cultural exchange program which gives foreign teachers the opportunity to teach in pre-school immersion programs, primary and secondary schools in the United States.

Trainee Exchange

The Trainee Program is designed to allow foreign professionals to come to the United States to gain exposure to U.S. culture and to receive training in U.S. business practices in their chosen occupational field. The programs range in duration, up to 18 months.

Teacher Exchange

Through the Teacher Exchange Visitor Program qualified pre-school (language immersion), primary and secondary teachers sharpen their professional skills and participate in cross-cultural activities in schools and communities, and they return to their home country after the exchange to share their experiences and increased knowledge of the United States and the U.S. educational system. Schools that host visiting teachers report the achievement of new levels of diversity, professionalism, and social and cultural awareness.

Trainee Exchange

The Trainee Exchange sponsors residents of other countries with significant experience in their occupational field to receive additional training in the United States. The Trainee Programs include the opportunity for interested foreign nationals to receive hands-on training through structured, field-specific training plans. The benefits of this program include enhanced skills and expertise of exchange visitors in their academic or occupational fields.

Culture Exchange

Have you ever considered living abroad? A Teacher Exchange allows international teachers to experience the American classroom. Participating in a cross-cultural exchange allows member teachers to learn from high-level academic professionals while also exploring local and broader domestic attractions.

Placement Options

The Teachers Council teacher exchange allows for a range of placements based on the professional experience of eligible candidates as well as the current needs of member schools. Whether in elementary, secondary, bilingual, or English classrooms, Teachers Council has a place for you.
